Toronto: Indians in Toronto celebrated the 67th Indian Independence Day by flag hoisting, cake cutting and cultural functions.

Singing of the national anthem at the Indian Consulate in Toronto on Independence Day
People from various states of India in Toronto gathered at the Indian Consulate General to join in the Indian flag hoisting ceremony by Consul General Preeti Saran. this was followed by the singing of Indian National Anthem.
Then the Consul General read Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s message to the Indians all over the world.
The gathering then joined in the singing of patriotic song Ae Merer Watan Ke Logo by Panorama Idol contest winner.
Celebrations ended with cutting of cake and small refreshments.
