Toronto: Nrutha Kala Kendra Dance Academy is in preparation for its second arrangetram on July 21, 2013. The arrangetram of Ms. Sharon Thomson & Ms. Aleena Easow will be held at the prestigious Markham Theatre in Markham.
Ms. Easow who is a grade 11 student came to Nrutha Kala Kendra (NKK) at the age of 5 and has been an active participant in many of the NKK programmes in and around GTA. On the otherhand, Ms. Thomson after migrating from Kuwait to Canada was eager to continue her training in Bharathanatyam. Thus she found both NKK academy and a perfect dance partner in Aleena.
Sharon and Aleena request the support, blessings and prayers of all family and friends. They seek also the blessings of Sujatha teacher, Anjitha Teacher and Ebby Kayaniyil who are the other teachers of NKK Dance Academy. Sharon is in pursuit of a career in the medical field while Aleena is still deciding a career path.
NKK dance academy is very proud of these two young talents who have achieved this stature in Bharathanatyam and wish them well in all future endeavors.
Along with the performers on stage will be: Sri. Mohan Thiruchelvam, Sri. Sree Ram and Sri. A. Jayadevan; supporting the performers on vocal, mrudangam, and violin respectively.
Founder and director of NKK – Preetha Kandanchatha – will do the natwangam which is a key component of any Bharathanatyam arrangetram.

Preetha Kandanchatha:
Preetha started learning Bharathanatyam at the age of 4 under Smt. Sadanam Lakshmikutty Amma and then later, moved on to Ms. Kalamandalam Indira. She has won many awards in traditional dance competitions during her school years. Here, she is also an active participant in Malayalee Cultural events, Panorama India events, Carassaga events etc to name a few. She hails from a family of artists, one being a renowned kathakali artist, and the other a dramatist. Preetha’s father was a well known make-up artist also among the artists circle.
